Eleanor's baptism

I finally got my new sword. I am really happy with it, the smith was as much of an artisan as his other work indicated.

I got exactly the slightly forward weighting I wanted, making both parrying and cutting better. Would be a problem if you're not strong enough, but it is perfect for me. Exactly the right dimensions and the trim is beautiful. The steel holds an edge very well, none of the brittle razor sharp bullshit, but an edge that keeps even after cutting up 4 guys in armour. I love it. I'll name her Eleanor! I was optimistic that I'd get an opportunity to baptise her in a fitting liquid quickly.

But, if takes a for effing ages to arrange a baptism. I guess it doesn't help in the fight against chaos to just slaughter random people, even if they look funny, but being an inquisitor is more about reading stuff and talking to people than I expected. It gets kinda long-winded after a while...

Sunniva and Johanna look at the poems, but it isn't all that easy to figure out what they mean, even after endless hours among the books. Finally, Sunniva receives word about a pretty crazy killing in the poor quarters. A family of 6 splattered around in their own appartment, with their heads missing. This can definitely be a lead to something Khorne.

I accompany Johan and Johanna to investigate. The scene is horrible and the heads are really missing. The bodies have been carved up with claw and axe, and the heads have been torn off. That requires a LOT of strength. Unnatural strength. This will be a very fitting baptism! There is blood everywhere, with some familiar scribblings in the blood. Unfortunately the writings are as cryptic as the ones we found earlier.

We talk to a lot of neighbours. Noone has seen anything, but have heard a lot of yelling and screaming. The screams were absolutely blood curdling, and people have been too scared to look

The blood red moon mentioned in the poems actually happens, once every blue moon. According to the astromancers this will happen next on 18th of Kaldezeit in year 2500. Suth is a Khorne aspect, known for subtlety and trickery, and is probably the sponsor of whatever prophecy the chaos vermin are attempting to fulfill. A Khorne-aspect that is subtle and deceitful. It makes no sense. But chaos is gonna chaos.

One of the the street urchins has seen the monster that killed the family. Definitely something demonic, but it transformed to a human a little down the street. And the human looks like Fügmyndir. Yess, it is time for baptism. Since he is a Khorne follower, Johanna runs up and knocks on his door, and when he comes out we call him a weakling. Of course it works. He transforms and charges.

Terrifying guy, really. But a wuss, we kill him easily. Still, a very fitting baptism for Eleanor. I now have a wife!

We then set up watch on the two doors to the catacombs with help from the Rabbits and the Loafers, and start following Sargeant Maja Brechholdt around. She goes to the docks and to Wolfmatze. She also meets a guy at a bar, whom we recognize from the catacombs.
